Dumb Range Report--Experienced Handi -man
« on: March 30, 2008, 05:45:16 AM »
I finished the bedding of the fore-end on the GREEN HORNET at Christmas break and finally got out  to the range to check it out.  Well it shot all over the place. I was so mad I couldn't think straight. I tried the fore-end off and still inconsistent. Man was I p__d off

Well I got the gun home and took it apart WET LATCH--WET LATCH--------------------------------Duh........  dumb.

Handi 101:  MAKE SURE THE LATCH AND SHELF ARE DRY-------------------------------DRY D_MN IT DRY.

Monday I will try again with a DRY latch and shelf.

Do I understand it just might have to be DRY?  The word is "DRY"??  Not as in WET???

Now that you fellas have had your "chuckles"  :D,  what would be a good way to dry it if it "accidentally" got some oil on it ?

   Maybe something like CRC 656 ???   :) 8) ;D   ???  Jim

I store mine muzzle down to keep the oil that might run down the bore/barrel off the latch shelf. After cleaning, whether at the range or at home, I use alcohol and Q-tips. ;)
