I Saw a used handi 204 pallet wood stocked bull barrel today on the used rack at juniata trading company in everett pa, for 189 bucks and the trigger was pretty good, but I resisted the temptation for now anyway, prioritys come first.

What a guy! It's difficult to do. I passed up a similar deal at eh local Gander recently. Oh well, I didn't need another caliber to reload for anyway! I actually have a Rem 700 in .17 Rem that I don't use all that much now.

Everyone on this site refers to the wood on a Handi as "Pallet Wood". But in reality its not a junk wood. I've heard it called a yellow birch but to me it looks like a brown maple-I really don't know what it is. Its heavy and dense so it doesn't take on stains easily. But once the ugly brown stuff that the factory puts on is removed the character of the wood starts to come through. A little time spent with sanding, grain filling and a nice finish the wood can take on a real nice look. I did it and think its well worth the effort. Dave
