Ruger P95 or Sig police trade in P225
« on: March 25, 2008, 01:43:55 PM »
I am debating whether to buy a new Ruger P95 or a police trade in Sig Sauer P225 P6 model. What are some of your thoughts? Thanks, Charlie

The P95 has been the subject of much discussion on this forum. The consensus being, it's rugged, reliable, inexpensive, big, blocky, poor sights, and has a terrible trigger.  If this suits you, you'll be well armed. No experience with the 225, but having owned both the 220 and the 226 find that the Sig is also a bit blocky for my tastes, but has better sights and trigger, and is a bit more expensive. Both are fine guns. I would take the Sig, any Sig, over the Ruger. I still own the 220, I made a present of the P95, and traded the 226.

got the sig and love it.. get an agreement from dealer that sale is final ,,after you test several of the protection rds in it.. mine feeds great but one fellows didnt..by the way dont judge whether it feeds well by manually working the rds thru the action.. doesnt mean anything if they hang that way.. shoot it  is the only way to test feeding..as one fellow said itll just about feed rocks.. :)

Sig it is. Mine shipped a couple of days ago and arrived at my FFL today. I couldn't pick it up today but Monday I will. Thanks for the input. I will update this post when I get out and shoot it. Thanks again. Charlie

I picked up my P6 today and it feels like the best quality autoloader I have ever held. I can't wait to go shoot it. Thanks for the input. Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I bought one of the P6's from Military Gun Supply (Ft. Worth, Texas) at a gun show in Pasadena, Texas a couple of years ago.  Very nice condition with two clips.  About $325 as I recall.  It is the most accurate 9MM I have ever shot.  Very easy to shoot and a very good buy.  My other favorite is a Smith 910 that I also bought used on an auction forum.   Both of these will put the hurt on some *ss if you do your part.  Enjoy your Sig.

Regards,
