Finally got my replacement 45-70
« on: April 07, 2008, 07:43:26 AM »
Well the wife and I drove up to the big gun show in Tulsa Sunday.I sold my ruger single six "Sheriffs model. And I found a Handi-rifle in 45-70 to replace the Shikari that my ex-son-law had stolen to sell for drugs. It is the blued version with the black plastic stock.I brought it home and put sling swivels on it,Weaver rings and a Simmons 3x-9x by 50mm scope.I will pick up a box of remington 405gr. ammo for it this week and hopefully will get to the range this weekend. The trigger on this one is so much better then the Shikari. The old on had about a 9lbs pull with lots of creep. This one is a crisp 4lbs.Now I am one very Happy guy.

CD

You have to just love kids like that ,  >:(

My uncle had his whole safe emptied by one of their foster kids about 2 years ago hes still trying to replace some of them , the worst part was the old H&R 9 shot .22 that his dad had given him can never be replaced .

On the up side , my 22" 45/70 shoots the 405s very well .  ;D

Thankfully his evil ways caught up with him and he is no longer among the living.
