Hey Char,
Tim is right, shooting it is the only way to really know! I'd bet that there will be a big difference in POI.

GOOD SHOOTING!

Tim's right.  I would expect a higher POI, but no clue as to how high.

Based on my old slide rule, average relative dew point, temperature conversion and six runs on my computer and a SWAG, the drop will be 5.774213 inches.     ;D

REX6666----------it appears when you did your calculations that by getting a drop of 4.999 you left off the data from the slide rule...ho ho ho ;D

Hey char . WELCOME to GB !  Tim , Slufoot & wood gave you the straight stuff.  Get a big piece of cardboard, put a red dot on it, shoot both bullets @ the dot & you'll know the answer for your gun.

But in case your like me , 150 miles from the range & are trying to "glean" some information from this "thread" , I'll offer some help. Rem Shoot (tm) sighted in @ 25yds has your 300 @ -.18" & your 405 @ -3.74".  The Hornady (tm) site, Ballistic Resource Calculator has your 300 @ -.2" & your 405 @ -3.7", all @ 100 yds.  These are free to all of us but are "very rough" estimates.

As time goes on , like me , you'll learn how to phrase these questions .  ::)

Your being "initiated" by the rest of these jerks !  ;) :) :D ;D  Good Shooting  Jim

The Remington ballistics calculator will compare any of their ammo, here's the two you're interested in, but as has been said, you'll want to shoot it to learn what the real exterior ballistics are from your rifle. They show a 50yd zero and a 100yd zero.
