Long ramrod needed
« on: April 07, 2008, 11:27:00 PM »
I need to make a new range rod for my rifle. It is .36 calibre and has a 42 inch barrel. I want to make a metal rod for it but can not find anything over 36 inches long. Do any of ya have a suggestion?

try looking for/at local salvage yards or metal works for brass rod, this could be a 100 mile radius.
or just buy 2 (two) cleaning kits for high power rifles and put the section together,,you did say  "range rod".

I use a sectional shot gun cleaning rod.  Haven't got the faintest idea where I got enough sections for it, lost in the annals of time and my advanced CRS I guess.  But it works fine for my 44 inch barreled 50.

Your local hardware store should be able to order a 48" brass rod for you in whatever diameter you want.
