New to the Fold
« on: April 12, 2008, 09:52:30 AM »
Hello all,
Just got my first TC, an old style Contender pistol with a 10" barrel.  I succumbed to the temptation offered by Eabco, and purchased the discounted 17M2 barrel last week, so I had to find a frame to put it on.  Unfortunately, only one shop within 50 miles of me had a Contender pistol of any sort in stock when I called around. Fortunately, one did, and at what seemed a good price (350).
So, here I am, and can't wait to get out to the range with it.
Thanks for all the good info offered here.
Don

Looks like another one that TC has hooked ;D. Get ready for more barrels. Dave
Do you speak German? Well I don't speak Spanish so maybe you'd better learn English.

I just hope that your new barrel will work on your old frame.  :o If not it can be fixed by a good smith.

Thanks, guys. What, no crack about buying a barrel first? Or is that a not uncommon thing?

As far as lock-up, thanks for mentioning that; I didn't know it could be an issue.  The new barrel locks up nice and tight.

Feel free to offer more advice, such as where I could find a good primer on Contenders. I've been surfing this forum quite a bit, but am only absorbing the info a piece at a time.
