Bushnell or Burris would be a better choice.  Eventhough I own all Burris scopes the next one is going to be a Bushnell trophy 2x-6x.

The only Simmons scopes that I've owned-that held together-were the Whitetail Expedition series.  Had a pistol scope that I used for .357, but moved up to a better one. The Whitetail Expedition was from a 30-30 barrel, I put it on a .22.

Their glass just isn't good enough nor, does it last long enough. I don't think they focus all that well.  If I were looking for a moderately priced scope, maybe a Weaver.  I shoot Burris and Leupolds though.

The only scope Simmons made that would reliably hold up to handcannons was their Gold Medal 2-7.   So naturally they discontinued that model.

I use a bunch of an even better discontinued model for all my bigger handcannons - the Tasco Pro Class.   I'm not a Tasco fan but these scopes take the abuse and I've never damaged one in thousands of rounds fired on the big boomers.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

Get a Leupold and forget the cheap stuff. You get what you pay for, period!
