I've got one, good guns I've never had a problem with mine,it shoots anything you feed it.
I believe the 239 replaced the 225.

I recently purchased one of the German P6's from Military Gun Supply, I opted for the refinished on for an extra $30. bucks. Let me tell you this was possibly the best deal on guns at the moment. It shoots great!!! I didn't expect much, being a Police turn in , I was expecting to keep it as a "truck" gun.  Its now my favorite.
I had a New Ruger SR9 and only kept it a few weeks, it had a crummy trigger, mags loaded hard, it "bit my hand". I have also had a Glock 19 and didn't like the trigger on that either. This Sig will outshoot them, and I'm sorry to say it also outshoots my Kimber Custom 2, which I have shoot alot!
Now I'll be looking to purchase a Sig 220 as soon as possible. Be carefull of Sigs, they can be addicting!

The P225 isn't being imported any longer. However, P6 sigs are the police version and are everywhere. The early models will not feed hollow point ammo reliably, they were designed that way, and it takes a fair amount of work to reshape the feed ramp. A new barrel will have the updated feed ramp and are available, and usually drop right in. The triggers are smooth but VERY stiff, a lighter main spring will help a bunch I went with a 19# you might get by with as little as 17# for range use depending on ammo. New grips are hard to find lately, so I'd check over a gun with that in mind. Those are the warts that I know of. I spent $500 on one shortly before the P6's showed up, and would do it again tomorrow for $550. The grip is narrow but fills my hand nicely. With the lighter spring the trigger is firm ( 9.5/5 pounds my guess) but as smooth as you please. It carries and conceals well and is a damn good looking weapon. My wife shoots it and loves the feel and the light recoil the grip is well suited to small hands and it's heavy enough to soak up the 9mm. Did I mention I love my P225? Get the P6 and fall in love for yourself.

Empty Quiver.  Wrong, the Sig 225 is still being imported by the thousands as used guns.  CDNN Sports of Abilene, TX,  PH 1-800-588-9500 has them in their latest catalog for $299.00, an excellent buy in my opinion.

I have two of them, one was a bring back from my military tour in Germany, the other I purchased several years ago for another GI who brought it back.  The downside to the 225 is there are few magazines available, and when you can find them they are expensive.  (CDNN had them for $24.99, but someone bought every one that was available, over 6000)  Next the magazine release is located on the bottom of the gun which makes it a little more difficult to change in a SHTF situation, this can be done fairly quick with practice.  The next downside is the limited number of rounds it holds.

Even with all the flies, they are excellent guns, and should serve as a great carry or personal defense weapon.  I don't think you will go wrong in buying one of these guns.

Unless you have an FFL you can not purchase directly from CDNN.  Some FFL holders that are registered with the company may allow you to order and pay for the gun on your personal credit card, having the gun shipped to their address, and they charge you a nominal fee for transferring  it to you.

Learned something today! I thought it was just the P6s . Mine is American style mag release so that hasn't been an issue either. I have heard that all the imports are kind of putting a strain on cheap parts supply, seems like one of the few times I've been able to get on the front of the wave. I was able to get new grips and 4 extra used mags pretty cheap about a year ago.

I bought two of the German police trade in P6's which are the police designation for the P225.  BEST DEAL OUT THERE!!!! It is my absolute favorite pistol for balance, fit, pointability, reliability and concealment.
