First time out
« on: April 20, 2008, 03:54:38 PM »

I took my new .223 Youth Handi to the range today. I noticed some things. These aren't intended to be complaints mainly just observations. When I was looking at it here at the house I was thinking, with my fat little chipmunk cheeks I'm going to have a heck of a time getting down to those sights. Then my son who is 19 shouldered it and he said "boy these sights sure are hard to see." Then I was relieved, I thought it was me. The comb of the stock is so high I can't get down on it. I'm thinking that this thing is going to have to get a scope. My eyes just aren't good enough to be able to do it justice.
I was able to get 1" groups out of some PMC 55 gr. FMJ stuff today at 25 yards but that's really nothing to write home about or complain about either. I'd say a scope is definitely in order here. The trigger sure is nice though. I'd say it's 2 1/2 lbs. max.
