shot
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:55:54 PM »
I am looking for a good price on shot
I am looking at the Knight extra hard lead shot in the 3.5 Lb bottle for $9.99 at brass pro
I also saw that BPI has the 25 Lb bag for $50 but not the 3.5 LB bottle.

anyone know of a place I can get the shot cheaper?  I would prefer the knight bottle but can make due with the 25 lbs if the price is right.

Right now there is no such thing as cheap shot. The last shot I bought I gave $ 12.50 for a 25 # bag. Now it`s around $ 50 here also. The main reason I quit shooting trap.

Ask around at some of the local trap ranges and see if anyone in your area is selling reclaimed shot.   Just make sure it doesn't have any stones mixed in.
Reclaimed shot is available in my area for about half the price of new, but I stopped using it because there were some stones mixed in and it caused some scratches in my barrel.   If the reclaimer does a good job of washing the shot, there shouldn't be any stones

I'm seeing shot at about $41 a bag. That is at gun shops, not big box stores like Sportsmans Warehouse and Gander Mountain. The big box stores are still selling for $50 a bag. One more reason to patronize your local gun shop. A good gun shop is an excellent asset to the shooter.

LOL...We made it tell it got to 14+ a bag. I still have a pair of Mec hyd. units, I don't know why I'm hanging on to. I don't even want to figure what it would cost to shoot the average 800 birds a week my wife an I use to shoot. Weather permitting. Sometimes as many as 1200. Yes, we miss it. Were done unless we ever hit the lotto.
