My son says why
« on: April 25, 2008, 04:38:19 AM »
My son asked me why we make it a point when shooting off of a rest to push the rest up against the trigger guard to keep from putting pressure on the forearm.  But we see a bunch of Handi's that shoot as well or better than ours with bi-pods mounted on them.
The only answer I had was Well.....  Go ask your mother.  Actually I said Huh, I never thought about that.  Let me see what I can find out.

Can someone help me look smart to my son.

Handi's tend to spring open a bit on firing causing the fore-end to bump the forward rest. Some Handi's are fiitted up better(more rigid) than others and this effect is much less and more consistent shot to shot. The latter more rigid rifles shoot well off a bipod, the former will not. JMO
