how do the red dot scopes work?will they hold up to heavy recoil and how about eye relief? I'm trying to set up a hunting rifle for  my wife she cant close one eye so that's a problem too along with other handicaps. think ill eather be putting it on a 30-30 are 357mag.  thinks bill

Personally I don`t like them, but then this old dog is just to old to teach a new trick. That said, I do know afew guy that use them, mostly on handguns, but some on shotguns. Since they are made to be shot with both eyes open it might be just what your looking for. I could never get used to the dot floating around in the tube, but would recommend you try to find one your wife could try before you lay out the cash, but if you can`t you either buy her one or teach her to use open sights.
