Marlin 917V & BKL263 Mount?

Has anyone tried to use a BKL263 Mount on a 917V?  I am considering using it with a Bushnell Banner 4X12X40 scope.

Nope, but I have a BKL261 on my Marlin 17VS 17HMR (predecessor to the 917), and it wears a 4-12X40 scope.

I would like to use the 261, but have not found anywhere that has them, and BKL is not responding to e-mails or phone calls.  After seeing several posts on different forums about problems with orders. I am going to try the 263 mount which I can get.  It may be too long for the groves in front of the  ejection port which is the reason for the question.

I have the 261's on mine

the only potential problem might be fitting the double strap on the reciever nearest the barrel
however, if you look at the 261 and 263, you'll see it appears to be the same size. I'm not 100% sure though

When I called to order the 263 mounts, I found that the vendor had one 261 mount on the shelf which wasn't listed on their website.  It is now scheduled to be delivered Monday so I am waiting for that before trying out the gun which I picked up from layaway this week.
