I have one.  I don't have a chronograph but I figure I am getting 2700fps as listed in the factory specs.  I take factory ammo, put it in my press in the shell holder, and run it up through the press without a die in it.  Then I grab the flat point bullet with Vise-Grips and slowly retract the cartridge pulling the bullet out.  After a box of ammo has been done this way, I put the seater die in load a Nosler Ballistic Tip in the same weight of 120gr.  I seat it shallow so that the bullet doesn't quite touch the rifling.  It is VERY accurate and one of my favorite barrels.

My son has one that is 23" SS factory full bull barrel. Shoots 130 gr. Speers right at 2550 FPS. I use WW748 in fireformed cases and they are very accurate. Hammers deer nicely too. This is my fourth different 7-30 Waters barrel and I can't tell you what possessed me to get rid of the others.....brain lapse I suppose.

That is a beautiful rifle i was wishing to get around 2600 to 2700 fps but i think 2500 or so will do.

You could probably get the bullet speed you're looking for if you decreased bullet weight. I like the 7mm Speer 130 gr. BTSPs and they shoot excellent in my boys gun.

Hi,
I've been getting very good accuracy w/ the Sierra 120gn Pro-Hunter bullet with less than a max load of H4895 to about 2650fps. Any more powder was flattenning primers and decreasing accuracy. My "go to" load and barrel (24" Custom shop bbl. from Ed's TC's) for Sitka Blacktails. Perfect for making meat w/o excess waste.
140gn bullets also shot very well but velocities were down around 2400.
