That's a monster spec!  The biggest I ever caught was about 23 1/2" and I remember it pulled like a big redfish, so I know that your fish, which is bigger, must have given you  one heck of a fight!

What rod and reel were you using?  Also, what kind of line?

I use a 4000 Ambassadeur on a 7ft popping rod and 12lb mono.

july, aug. and sept. seem like less wind then.

Trout like the cooler waters of spring and fall,but in hotter months, they can be found in deeper waters--4 to 7 feet...
Redfish are good anytime...
