Post with a happy ending
« on: May 02, 2008, 04:31:03 AM »
Nasty day here yesterday. Wind in the 50 mph range for the second day in a row. My grand daughter was rushed to the hospital about 4 PM for an emergency C- section. Big grass fire started between here and the hospital but they got thru just as the highway was closed. I had to drive almost 50 miles to get to the hospital and it is only 15 miles normally. Delays because of an emergency appendectomy and a gunshot gangbanger tied up both operating rooms. But finally about 11 o'clock last night I became a Greatgrandpa for the first time. Mother and daughter are doing fine.

Congratulations. Sounds like you've got a great story to tell that kid. And being a grandpa you get to embellish it. Like how you drove 180 mph through a 50' wall of flames in a convertible!

Thanks, guys. They finally took her off of oxygen and brought her into the room after lunch today. She's a month premature. She's a cutie but hey, I may be a little prejudiced.

Congratulations! She was lucky to have been born prematurely without complications. Keep us posted on how she is doing.

oldandslow,
I'd like to add my congratulations.  It's nice to hear the good stories with a happy ending, and there just isn't anything better than grandkids - and great-grandkids.

No joke, MS. Greatgrandma started weeks ago. This kid already had enough stuff to last her for a year before she was born. She was pronounced fit as a fiddle by the Dr. last night and she and her mother are out of danger now. They will both be home today.
