I use the Encore...100gr of 777  Pellet form with a Hornaday SSt 250gr...Or a T/C 250 gr Shockwave.... 777 runs about 15% hotter that Pyrodex... I have no trouble getting 1" groups with this setup @100yds. I have read some people get good groups with this load out to 200yds... I am going to work up a load for that this summer. I didnt have any luck shooting 150gr of 777 and a 250gr bullet out to 200. I think I was overdriving the bullet... And it kicked pretty good. The Tech at T/C told me that I should hold 10 inches high at 200 and the bullet would have plenty enough energy to effectuvely kill deer at that range. I run a wet patch and 2 dry patches between each shot...Good luck Drop

I use 90 - 100 grains of American pioneer powder or Jim Shockeys Gold with a 250 gr. QT Precision Rifle Bullet (I have the Katahdin). Much cleaner burning than 777, and no crud ring. I'm also using 25 ACP ignition, but I think 209's are fine with these powders. I prefer powder, not pellets. The precision Rifle bullets seem to shoot the best for me.

I have had good luck with 100gr. of loose 777 and the 250gr. SST's/TC shockwave (same thing).  I get around 1" to 1.5" with this load.  I am patiently waiting for some of my local strores to start carrying the new Blackhorn powder.  It is supposed to give higher velocity, be non-corrosive, and keep better than others.  I just don't want to pay the 20 hazmat shipping fee from the online stores that already have it.  On another note, I have also had good luck with the various XTP bullets by hornady.  I have tried the 45 cal. 300gr and 240 grain bullets using standard black sabots. Again, I am using a 100gr. charge of 777.

Using 120 grains of Pyrodex RS and a sabot with 240 grain .44 cal bullet I could shoot easily 1.5" at 100 yards.
Anything I tried with minnie balls, paper patched bullets etc. never came anywhere close to that.
