Friend has one but it has a dark and rough bore.  Groups run 2 - 3 inches at 100.  Does shoot 2 inch groups enough to keep it interesting.  If the bore is in fine shape it may be a shooter.  Some people experience good accuracy out of the old gun.  One thing to keep in mind is that if you shoot lacquer coated steel cases you may experience very tight extraction to even bolt lock up.  This is caused by the lacquer getting hot and sticking to the bolt face.  We improved this problem by scrapping off the coating on the back of the case.  It helped alot.  Good luck with your mosin, they can be fun and a pretty good round.

I have a 91/30 and a 44. I was surprised the 44 didn't kick as much as I thought it would. Interesting old rifles, I like to get older military rifles and find the bayonet for them. You may be disappointed if you are expecting target rifle accuracy but they are fun to shoot.

There are plenty of guys out there that make hunting rifles out of them. Maybe you'll get one that shoots well.

I bought a M44 and put a synthetic stock on it, then put an adjustable Mojo rear sight on it.  I don't really know why I went through the trouble, but it was fun to tinker with.  I haven't put 100 rounds through the one I have.

I have a M44 that I like a lot. It's nowhere close to being a "tack driver",but it's fun to shoot.I load for mine so cost of ammo is not bad either.I enjoy owning and shooting something from the past.I always wonder who had it before me........Rick
