A Couple of Encore Questions

I owned a Contender a few years back, so I'm familiar with that platform. However, I have a question concerning the interchangeability of barrels between the Encore and Contender frames. Can you use Contender barrels on the Encore frame, but not use Encore barrels on the Contender frame?  Seems I've heard there was some interchangeability.

Also, who/where is a good source for Encore muzzle brakes?

As mentioned by KurtL, the only interchangeability is within platforms.

A Contender barrel will fit any Contender frame, whether it is an early generation frame or later generation, easy open, frame, or the latest Generation 2 (G2) Contender frame.  The only exception here is the Armor Alloy barrels will only fit Armor Alloy frames, unless they are modified to fit. 

Encore barrels will all fit Encore frames whether they are "Pro Hunter" frames or "Endeavor" frames or the standard Encore frame (they are all "Encore" frames...).

There is no barrel interchangeability between the Encore or Contender.

Now, what about the muzzle brake?

If you have a T/C brand barrel, you can send it back to T/C and they will put a brake on it for about $80 or so dollars.  You can get the muzzle brake installed also at the time of ordering a new barrel for less money (about $60 or so).

If you are wanting something different or have a non-T/C barrel, then there are several choices.  SSK (see banner on top of one of the forum pages - www.sskindustries.com) can do several different types of brakes.  There are many others as well.
