Watch that 1st Step ~ It's a LU-LU

Anybody else get one of these e-mails?
IS this true?, or is it some kind of fake photo work?   Here is the story as I remember, that came with these pics.

One evening just before sundown, during a stop at the Grand Canyon, a man noticed quit a stirring from the gathering of a small crowd at an overlook point.    Curious as to what was causing their attention, he grabbed his camera , ventured over and low, there stood a young photographer standing on a rock pillar stretching up from the bottom of the canyon.


Shod only in a pair of flip-flop type sandles, he slings his camera gear over his shoulder, grabs a bag in his left hand and in a heart stopping leap across oblivion,




his very life slaps one hand upon the top of the crag as one foot jabs for a toe hold in the solid rock formation.



 Momentarily he hugs the rock, tosses his gear up over the top, and clamber up to safety.

Just looking at that makes me nausea.

If he is as young as he looks in the pic. i will have to go with Sourdough. At that age we were all
bullet proof.

I have seen this before, it couldn't be verified as a true photo series.  I can only say, The floor of the Canyon is littered with the bones of people who thought they were bullet proof.  To maintain tourism you don't hear about all the deaths from people doing something stupid things. 

Most people only see the beauty of the Canyon, and it is awesome, however, it is a very dangerous and deadly environment.

looks fishy to me look at the back ground none of it looks like the rocks he's on, i dont think i would be worried about that tripod under the arm as it looks like he is.yes i like the 1 hand grab and toe hold

Check out the shadow on the rocks in the first frame.
Notice the suns angle?
2nd, 3rd, and 4th frames, no shadow.  ?

We still do incredible stupid stuff at a young age all because we think that we are bullet proof.
While I am ashamed to admit it, many was the time that I hopped off a moving tractor pulling a plow (at the ripe old age of 14) just to take a whiz. The thing was I had to run down that machine and remount it all while the large dual tires were spinning at just an arms lenght away It seemed like a pleasant diversion at the time because the path of the tractor was held firmly in place by the existing outer furrow.

I was never caught doing this but my employers must have known something that I didn't about my sanity or demeanor in general because they never trusted me with the Planter or the Combine.

  I'm calling foul.  The first image just doesn't seem as clear as the others and along with the missing shadows, the person seems "seperate" from the rest of the images.  Has that sort of "added later" look to it, espcially the last one.  Just look at the manner in which the person is hlding onto the rock.  Looks too staged.
