My Remington Model 7 is so accurate its scary!

I took my Remington Model 7 out this morning, with my son. We were checking a few new handloads and our zeros for the upcoming deer season.

We took the following rifles with us; all of them are 7mm-08s using various handloads:

Remington Model 7 CDL (Mine)
Ruger Ultra-light (Mine)
Savage 16 w/Accutrigger (My son's)

My Remington Model 7 CDL loved the Sierra 140 SP (flat base) loaded on top of 46.0 grains of IMR-4350. This rifle fired groups as small as 5/8 and 3/4 of an inch and is definitely a SWEET shooting rifle!

By the way, my son's Savage 16, and his shooting, impressed me as well. He and his Savage fired Nosler 140 Ballistic Tips and Accubonds into 1" groups.

My Ruger Ultra-light shot pretty well too, using Barnes 140 Triple Shocks on top of 47.0 grains of H-4350. The Ruger grouped from 1 1/8-1 3/8" groups.

Though not up to Camp Perry standards, I was extremely pleased with these hunting rifles with pencil thin barrels. Especially the Remington Model 7 CDL!

If the 7-08 and a good 140gr bullet isn't a match made in heaven, I don't know what is.
 The first 7-08 I ever owned (back then the barrel was stamped 7mm-.308) put its first 10 rounds into a groups the measured 7/8". 
My son accounted for our longest shot on a mulie with a 7-08 and a 140gr bullet. Just shy of 300 yards. 
It sounds like you've got a keeper.

Got to love those model 7's.  I got two 7mm08.  Mine shoot just just like yours.  My favorite rifle for sure.
