My T/Cs
« on: May 11, 2008, 02:20:12 AM »
Here's a Renegade I put together from an inexpensive pawn shop find and a .58 caliber GM slow twist barrel.

Here's a Hawken I put together using pawn shop & ebay parts.  It has a 15/16" .54 caliber GM slow twist barrel.

by selling my unused parts I was able to keep my total investment to less than the cost of one new T/C.

Hey Swampman, have you shot that .58 slow twist GM barrel yet?  I'm thinking about getting that barrel for my Renegade and sure would like to know how yours shoots.

I just got it so I haven't had a chance to shoot it.  I know a fellow that has one, and he says it's really hard to find a load that doesn't shoot well in it.

The 58 cal Green Mountain barrel shoots great. Mine is also mounted on a Renegade. I've used .018 and .020 patches with the .570 round ball and 90 to 100 grains ffg. The 90 grain load make a real nice range load but everything I put in it is accurate and I only shoot 100 yards. Swampman's fffg should be equally accurate with the load he develops. Makes a fine rifle for target and hunting.
