Speedfeed stock part missing?
« on: May 03, 2008, 12:12:09 AM »
Just got a 1989 tracker in 12ga. with the two 3" shell speedfeed stock.
In the stock there is a spring, and a heavy metal follower.
There is nothing to keep the shell forward in the slot so I can get a fingertip on the edge of a shell, because it fills the whole slot.
The follower goes all the way to the but-pad when empty.
(When shell, or shells are inserted... it is the same....no edge showing.)

All the pics I can find show 1/4" of gap behind the shell in the slot.
(E-gunparts do not list any part that goes into the speedfeed stock.)

Does anyone have one of these stocks, and can post a pic of the part that holds the shell forward in the slot from the butt-pad?

I am thinking of putting a short dowell rod in the slot, and securing it to the butt-pad via a screw.
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks...that would help a lot!
I am going to have to make something, because there are none for sale that I can find.

For some reason I can't get a pic to post.

Thanks for the pic,
looks like mine but..... on mine the slot is full of the plunger, with no gap like in your pic
I just have a plunger and spring inside the slot.
I need to know what keeps the shell from going all the way back to the buttpad.
