I could be wrong here but a coating of anything including copper would be bad for a barrel and accuracy. Dale

I have not shot coated bullets of any kind, i have used strictly copper jacketed bullets in my rifles. I always thought that coating like Moly were to cut down the copper fouling that is associated with jacketed bullets and give less friction in the barrel. I hear that they can be difficult to clean out of a barrel and if you switch bullets you have to clean the barrel thoroughly before shooting a plain bullet. There are lots of guys that swear by them and lots that swear at them. Like I said I have no first hand experience with these type of coatings.

I don't shoot Moly coated bullets my self, but know guys that do. I think the coating was to reduce friction and lower pressures.

BackStrap,
Just about any rifle needs a fouling shot or 2 or 3, before it shoots like it should, after a good cleaning.

Do u guys think a person would have to clean your barrel more or less than shooting a jacketed bullet?i would think less but thats just my thoughts cents there wouldnt be much if any copper build up what u think?reason i am asking i just loaded up some 115gr ballistic silver tips for my 25-06 and shot4 diffrant powder weights wich would be 12 rounds i shoot 3 shot groups, and cleand the barrel real well before i started shooting these bullets found 1 weight that the rifle liked ,so i will be shooting them for awhile but wanted to get your guys input on this. thanks John

I have shoot both types for years in 270-270WSM-30-30-243 and really don't see much difference in the cleaning.
Lubalux or what ever it is is not a molly coating according to WIN.
It does reduce following and reduces pressure.
I have shoot both copper and coated right after each other with out cleaning and noticed no difference in accuracy.
I will not shoot true molly coated bullets.
They can be a real bear to clean.
This is just my comments on them.
I am sure others think differently.
