Winchester 94 Ranger 3030 cal. value?
« on: May 17, 2008, 08:41:20 PM »
I'm new here so Hello to everyone! my question is, I just purchased this rifle from an individual which was made in 1990 according to the original box it came in. it looks like new and I was told it had just a few rounds fired through and spent the rest of the 18 years in the box. This is the first lever rifle I have ever owned so, I don't know what it's really worth anyway, I paid $200.00 for it does that seem like a fair price?  Thanks, and this seems like a great forum!     :)

p5200 - no, that was not a fair price.  You stole it.  Those rifles regularly go for twice that much around here, and sometimes more depending on the shop they are in.  You have done very well on this purchase and should consider yourself a lucky guy.  JMHO. Mikey.

I just traded a well worn 94 Ranger straight up for 2 Handi rifles. One brand new and one used. About $450 value.
You have done well.

Actually, the prices have been over inflated from the time the Winchester plant closed.......

You paid a fair price, which is what you could have bought a good one for before the plant closed.

My understanding is Browning/FN/ The Hertsel group, will restart production in 2009 so prices will probably return to pre plant closure levels then.
