Plain Jane Vanilla A2 AR15

been in every gun shop around and cant find a 20" A2 fixed handle AR. every shop i go into wants to sell me some m4 flat top variant. why cant these guys get it through their heads that all i want is a plain Jane AR. i dont want collapsible stocks, short barrels, etc. all i wanted was a classic A2. it simply bewilders me.
Now that ive vented - can somebody recommend a a good rifle for me at a decent price? i want a good rifle - doesnt have to be great - just something that'll go bang every time and shoot straight. looking for something in the 6-800 range.

Get u a magazine called shotgun news and buy u a complete lower and have it shiped to your local ffl holder and order u a complete upper and it will come strait to your front door and pin it together.for around 650 to 700 and they will shoot as good or better than u want them to. Good luck on your guest

BullyDawg19 I don't know where you hail from but around here the shelves are full of both new and used.  If you are interested I'll shoot you a link or 2 and some phone numbers for some of them.  Prices here run from a little below your lowest prospect to miles above.  Every manufacturer is represented also.  Just a matter of picking out what you want and fronting the cash.  BTW I have no connections with any of these places other than being a customer they like to see come through the door carrying cash on a regular basis.   :)

i live in the atlanta area and there are lots of dealers around here not to mention gun shows every weekend. i went to one particular shop ADVOUT.com and was looking around. they have about 8000 guns on hand. its definitely one of the larger stores around. guess what - no a2's. only m4 variants. colts, bushies, armalites, dpms, etc. its almost as if nobody carries them anymore. it really amazed me. i literally could not get through to the guy that i knew what i wanted and what he had wasnt going home with me. he tried to hand me 15 different rifles before i finally got fed up and left. went to 3 other shops and got the same treatment. guess ill have to hit the show circuit this weekend to find what i want.

Yes i am sure u will find what u want at a show,or build 1 like i have stated there is a lott of people doing this now days.next 1 i build is going to be a 16" A-2 carbine with collapsible stock, and mine will come in 2 peaces complete upper and complete lower,or u can get the hole kit less stripper receiver

well- i finally did it. ordered the bushmaster a2 from adventure outdoors. should be here wed. got a pretty good deal too. 850.00 for the a2 and 400 for the new 10mm that's coming with it will make daddy a happy camper this weekend. now that's what i call a stimulus package.
