Scope Mount for a super blackhawk
« on: September 10, 2008, 04:25:37 PM »
Do they make a scope mount for a SBH that u dont have to have the pistol drilled and taped? I have a SBH with a 7 and  half inch barrel and would like to put a scope on  it, but dont want to have to take it to a smith to get drilled and taped and was wondering if any of u new of 1 that didnt have to have smith work to the pistol first

i had two bad experiences with b square mounts, i ended taking them off and going back to open sights. perhaps weaver and wiegand would do a bettr job. dan

Have it drill and tapped, that is the best way to go in my opinion.

Backstrap, I have a Blackhawk 41Mag that I put a BSquare mount on with a reddot sight.  The sight was great but the mounts wouldn't stand the recoil and shfted POI every time I shot it.  I sold the mounts and scope and eventually drilled and tapped the top strap and installed a Weigand mount and rings with a 3X pistol scope and it never moves.

my experience with the bsquare mount is differnt then the rest. I had one on a stainless super and it worked great. It sure was ugly though. I put thousands of rounds of 300 grain cast through it and it never lost zero.
