Search for compact crossbow.
« on: May 14, 2008, 05:20:17 AM »
I'm looking for a crossbow with short enough prods to carry through the thick brush up here, and I'd like one with a full ramp so I can use shorter bolts if necessary.

Long ago, I saw a site that gave dimensions, but have not been able to relocate it since (naturally). Anyone have any suggestions?

(My first, a Barnett Wildcat, was such a rotten waste of money that I'd sooner not get another unless it's all that suites my needs.)

their is no such thing as a compact crossbow. so are more compact then others.

You may want to look at the ten point phantom line of crossbows. the are among the most compact on the market right now but they have a high price tag  or around $2000. and you can not beat ten points customer service.

the desert stryke is another compact one but I have read a lot of bad stuff about them and the customer service.

do not use an arrow shorter then they company recommits. you will gain speed but you loose weight and K.E. both are bad.

Great. Thanks, Tim, exactly the sort of thing I was hoping to find.

I have an xbow in storage somewhere, and I swear that thing seemed like it was 6' across.

Probably only 36", but it had me cussen and picking up stuff. Maybe I'll dig it out and see if it'll sell. Have to find it, though.
