Newbie about to buy BC 45-70
« on: June 01, 2008, 05:55:26 AM »
Newbie here.  Greetings to all and this is a great site.  I've been reading a lot.  I've decided to buy a new 45-70 BC.  My question is - online with buy-it-now or RK gun show coming soon?  What's your choice?

I've learned that gun shows aren't the bargain they used to be 15+ years ago.  ...unless you find a private seller.

In my years, my best deals have been on used guns via classified ads and getting in good with a local FFL and giving him my business.

I would not get in a big rush but would watch the gun show and local gun shops.  I like to find a shop with a good reputation, you can check on them at the local shooting range, the locals know what's what.

As knight0334 mentioned it good to get to know a local dealer.  I'll pay a few bucks extra to deal with someone I trust and know will be there if I have a problem with my purchase or am looking for a hard to find item.

Enjoy your BC, I find mine to be a real hoot to shoot.

Why do I carry a gun?  Because a Cop's too heavy.
