Plus one for Savage 22/20. I shortened the barrels , stock, added a recoil pad and have the quickest handling weapon I have.With a ammo cuff and 22 storage it is about "fine", as for defense a load of number 7's up close or No3 buck will work for two legged threats.For much larger a slug "may " solve the problem. just my2c Doug
