HOW MUCH PLAY
« on: June 02, 2008, 11:06:38 AM »
I have 3 barrels for my one handi. The 30-06 seems to have developed more play side to side than the others. Do I need to have it fixed and if so; how without sending it back?
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

If any barrel is lose when the action is closed with the forend removed, it needs to go back to H&R for repair, likely for a new barrel which will be an extractor cuz that's all they make now. If it only wiggles with the action open with the forend on, it doesn't matter. If you want to repair it yourself, see my barrel fitting info in the FAQs, but if it's a factory fitted barrel, you should take advantage of their CS and call them to make arrangements to have it fixed, ask them to cover shipping too, toll free (866)776-9292.

Thanks Tim- I guess I'll just send it back since i bought it from H&R. Thanks for the free shipping tip.
