civil war repro limber

Wanting to know were to find the best detail of the hardware needed for a civil war reeproduction limber to go with Mt. Howlitzer so that local blacksmith could make what is needed for us. Thank you for your time.

When ever youneed this sort of stuff the first place I always recommend is check our  Where to find Blackpowder Cannons and shooting supplies post at the top of the board.

Scroll down the list until you find cannon plans and then open the link to Antique Ordnance Publishers.  They provide copies of original ordnance drawings  in a 11" x 17 " format and at a bargain price.  If they do not have what you need list, call and ask, they still might have it.

Did the Mountian Howitzer have a limber?  It was primarilly a pack gun wasn't it?

The first version was designed as a pack gun but it is my understanding that the second and third versions were intended to be pulled like other field artillery.

did they realy pack both the cannon and carriage onto only one horse ??
was that same horse also carry the powder and balls ??

Three horses, I think.  Barrel on one, carriage on another, ammo on a third.
