The new BFR is AWSOME!!
« on: June 08, 2008, 04:25:20 AM »
Got the BFR in 480/475 linebaugh, threw a weigand base, and 3 ring set-up on it, and finished it off with a Leupold 4x scope.  The results..............5 rounds  in one jagged hole at 50 yards!!  Shot 2 ground hogs with it the other day, one dead between the eyes at 75 yards, and the other in the back of the head at 122 yards. Not to bad for a gun that people say can't shoot nearly as well as a Freedom arms.  Does anyone know some one who can make wood grips for this gun, I have very nice pieces of bubinga, indian rosewood, and ebony, and want grips made from each.

The .475 Linebaugh is a fantastic cartridge. Congratulations on your purchase.

i'm a big freedom arms fan but to say a bfr is not as accurate is just plain wrong.  they are.
a gun owner that votes dem is an oxymoron with the emphasis on moron.

I've the same w/a 7.5" BFR barrel (BFR meas different). However, I'm day 2 into a 10day waiting period which is up 29th but its a sunday. Feel like a kid waiting on Christmas. To make time pass quicker, I shopped around for some bullets only to find that there aren't that many choices. Have a coupld of lee moulds coming.

I may scope it to see how well it/I do at the range but thinking going to red dot for the field tho

Back on topic, I'm not too happy w/the oem rubber grips but was able to fit hogue monogrip w/fingergrooves for ruger SBH on my other BFR which was nice ~ until I visited Jack Huntingtons shop and handled one he was stocking in micarta. Had him do the same w/mine. This new'un will have to wear rubber for a spell tho
