The Trigger Of the CZ 458 Lott

I read about this guy having problems with his Set trigger on his CZ 458 Lott. With the set trigger there is only 1 Ft Lb of pull, Without the set trigger you have 3 Ft Lbs Of pull Witch isn't bad. But he's going to send it off to CZ land for repair. You see he doesn't have a set trigger and he's leaving on a buffalo hunt this Sunday.
Has anybody had this problem?

Hmmm why would you want a sett trigger on a heavy game rifle?

  I would also think that 3lbs is too light for a big game rifle, I know that the trigger on my P-H 1100M in 458 was a looooooooooooot heavier than that and too heavy from me so I lightened it some but as that's a Mauser 98 type action is was quite easy.

I think all CZ rifles come with a set trigger. I know my 458 lott has one.  I don't know but maybe this guy just wants it to work. Not to use. Thats how I feel about mine. I mean there is very little play in these triggers. You get up to 3 Ft Lbs And that bullet is gone.

I felt the same about a set trigger on a big bore, that is, until I bought one.  I've had a CZ American in .458 Win. for a few years now, and while I have not taken any game with it, I do find that I use the "set" more often than you might think.  It adds greatly to load developement off the bench.  I really believe it contributes to better, accurate shooting.

Try one, and you may agree.

Hi All,

    Well I have acouple of rifles with sett triggers, one is a BSA CF2 Stutzen (full stock carbine) with double sett but BSA did thieres in a more logical way the front trigger is backwards and you push this forwards to set, the rear trigger is a normal blade and can be used as a normal trigger. The other has a Kepplinger Single Sett trigger.
