power mutated scope?  I'm just curious.  I mounted a Nikon Monarch on my rifle and had the old scope laying there so I decided to see if placing them end to end  would increase the power to eighteen.  Well, it didn't work.  It just seemed to blur everything out regardless of the power settings on both scopes.  The sight picture basically remained that of the front scope but blurry.

Why is this?  Logic, mine   ::), would dictate that if you magnify something 9 times and then magnify it 9 times more the net result is a magnification of 18.  I didn't expect it to be crystal clear but did expect some additional magnification.

If this hurts to think about this, I understand.   ;D

FOCUS or the lack thereof on a riflescope

I've actually been able to use a 14 power VXIII to read my chrony 100yds out by "doubling up" with a cheap-o 8x monocular.

Interesting.

I thought that I could see my hits at 200 yards by using the two scopes in conjunction.  You know, a poor man's spotting scope.   :D

I'll try it with the binoculars and see if I can get similar results as yours.

Thanks, for the reply.
