eska 5 horse boat motors anyone know much about them?
« on: June 19, 2009, 03:50:45 PM »
I bought an eska 5 horse boat motor for my little fishing boat! Can someone help me figure out if the water pump works? I see at the bottom of the motor there is a pipe about 1/4 in size just above the prop.Is that the intake or where the water comes out? I can post pictures if that would help! I am Looking for a guy that collect or works on old out boards that can help me figure this good starting old boat motor out! I payed $95 for it and it starts on the first pull! I don't want to ruin my $95 investment! Thanks Dale

Do an online search for information. I'm thinking the Eska is air cooled. The pipe you're referring to is likely the exhaust. Good luck with your Eska, be sure to carry extra shear pins, and for sure a paddle!

Dale,

Go to ebay and do a search for Eska outboards. My dad recently bought 2 of those old motors and I ordered him a parts manual from ebay. They are still really popular in the northern small lakes areas.
