Obama
« on: April 12, 2008, 03:39:54 PM »
First, let me say that I have no problem with Obama because he is black--of African descent.  That would not keep me from voting for him.  I do have a problem with his Islamic family background.  I do not believe that nearly enough people in this country realize that we are in a life-and-death struggle with Islam.  I have some problems with his politics--with what I believe to be his penchant to want to seize, through taxation, the wealth of those who have and redistribute it to those who do not have.  I have a problem with his wife's attitude toward this country.  I have a problem with his pastor's attitude toward this country.

I HAVE A REALLY BIG PROBLEM with what he recently said about people in small towns and communities being bitter and, because of their bitterness and in their frustration, hanging onto religion and guns and prejudices.

Who, in recent history, has characterized religion as a "crutch?"
Who, in recent history, has stripped the population of guns and suppressed religion--particularly Christianity?
Who, in recent history, has advocated redistributing wealth?

Wealth is a funny thing: it is inextricably tied to the people who produced it.  When wealth is separated from those who produced it, wealth disappears, and the poor remain poor.  When the communists seized and supposedly redistributed wealth and when they stripped the population of guns and suppressed Christianity, the population  became slaves living in poverty under the rule of an elite living in opulence.  The state, not God, became the giver, more often the denier, of all things.  The only redistribution of wealth that works is when Christians, and like-minded people, CHOOSE to share their wealth with the poor.  We have chosen, in this country, to share our wealth in a huge way through the Social Security and other systems, and it has worked enormously well.

I am enough of a Freudian, in my understanding of human psychology, to believe that when a person says something inadvertently, it is probably what he really thinks.  Obama's statement speaks worlds to me about what he really thinks about religion and guns--and we poor souls that he looks down on.

If Obama is elected president of this country, with a like-minded majority in Congress, WE WILL HAVE GUN CONTROL and no telling what else that we don't want.

Take a look at what he said, and the only thing that /might/ not apply to the members of the Black church he attends is the part about the guns.

Now, every one knows he was talking about whites, but...

not to worry he has a plan, take away the guns you cling to and convert you to muslin so you can cling to your I.E.D's then you won't be bitter and unhappy about the illegal aliens, the loss of American jobs,4 buck a gallon gas, I'm real tired of HIS racist remarks and his not getting called on them because of his race.

torpedoman - sorry bud but in this country a black man has the right to say whatever he wants and with total impunity.  Those of us who happen to be white seem to have given up that right to those we let speak for us.  JMTCW.  Mikey.

I would vote for Powell or Rice, but as a gun owner I will not vote Obama.  My liberal friend said Fox News was lying to me so I watched Liberal CNN and they did a good job of telling what the candidates stood for.  Hillary was the usual Sarah Brady B.S., but Obama was for national gun registration and a national ban on concealed carry.

While not all democrats are anti-gun, I feel that with the democrats gaining more control of congress and Obama as president, we would be heading toward the U.K. and Australian form of no guns.  Remember the old bumper sticker, "When Guns are Banned Only Outlaws will have guns?"  This is not a time to vote a straight ticket and we need to work hard to protect the Second Amendment.

We have a pro-gun, pro-hunting democrat governor here in Ohio and there are rumors that he would be Obama's VP.  He could help Obama get elected and we would lose a good governor.

This may well be a fateful election year for gun owners.  While the apparent Republican nominee wasn't my first choice (because of his record on guns), we can likely live with his presidency much better than we can with either Obama or Clinton (to understate the situation!).   We need to register shooters and hunters to vote, work on election campaigns, make sure that everyone in our families votes for gun rights, and encourage all voters to think of the long term implications in having an experimental president as Obama would be (and an elitist liberal to boot).  My state will vote Republican for president no matter what so therefore I have a responsibility to send money to the candidate and to the NRA so that we have the best chance in states that could go either way.  And I need to work on campaigns for Congress, the state legislature and even the local city assembly even though that conflicts with time I have to hunt.  On the plus side for McCain, one or two more good appointments to the US Supreme Court and gun rights from that perspective will be OK for some time to come (although the ruling expected next month might be very important of course).  Also, McCain as President would give pro-gun candidates for Congress a better chance.  A final point is that pro-gun Democrats seem to be able to win in close races for Congress, and gun owners from those states need to make sure that once elected those people remember what they said during the election.  In summary, it's our watch now and we need to work hard to ensure that gun rights are preserved and handed to the next generation of Americans.  Thanks for your time.

Windbreak, all politicians sound good about the main subject of their speeches because they are careful of what they say about that (or their speech writers are). It's the incidental stuff about other subjects, and how they've voted in the past, that I like to watch.

Picture says it all.   DOG SENSE

Have you ever heard that a dog "knows" when an earthquake is about to hit?

Have you ever heard that a dog can "sense" when a tornado is stirring up, even 20 miles away?

Do you remember hearing that before the December tsunami struck Southeast Asia, dogs started running frantically away from the seashore, at breakneck speed?

Do you know that dogs can detect cancer and other serious illnesses and danger of fire?

Somehow they always know when they can 'go for a ride' before you even ask and how do those dogs and cats get home from hundreds of miles away?

I'm a firm believer that animals  - and especially dogs - have keen insights into the Truth.
And you can't tell me that dogs can't sense a potentially terrible disaster well in advance.

Simply said, a dog just KNOWS when something isn't right .. . when  impending doom is upon us . . they'll always try to warn us.... !!

Yes I read the McCain interview in the NRA magazine. MCCain answered every question in the way the NRA wanted him to . Also, Wayne LaPierre did not ask him any questions about his anti-gun record. I would bet that if Barack Hussein Obama would have interviewed him he would have answered the questions TOTALLY different.  Yet, I will eat the "crap sandwich" and vote for McCain. Unless by the time the election gets to Wisconsin and it is already decided I will write in Ron Paul.
