Spanish 24 pdr. Siege/Seacoast guns, Manila 1808

This interesting pair has a unique design made only in Manila.  They are vaguely similar to other Spanish bronze 24's of the period but differ in many design details, particularly the dolphins and the chase and muzzle.  There are some imperfections in the casting that would probably have resulted in rejection had these been cast at either of the Royal Cannon Foundries in Seville or Barcelona.  They are on display near Seattle, WA.  You may recognize Ed, the star of many You-Tube cannon videos.  Click on the thumnail pix to enlarge them.
