9.3x62, 250gr TSX load

Has anyone used this bullet?  I have used the 286 Nosler Partition but thought maybe I need to get a different bullet for plainsgame in Africa.  May have to take a 200yd shot.  Any experience with the 250 TSX for larger game?  I will be hunting Kudu, Gemsbok, and warthog.  Any thoughts on this load would be great to hear.        Thanks        Buckfever

For now I will try to work up a load with RL-15.  I think this could really be the sweet spot for ELK and plains game.   Will  advise as the quest continues.   Buckfever

Sorry we were not much help , the 9.3 is just not something most keep in the gun safe  Have you tried Steve's pages ? He may have some data for this round there .

I used the standard 250 X in Africa 6 years ago in my 9.3x62. I did recover some of the bullets as shown below. Muzzle velocity was 2650 fps from my 24" barrel using VV-N550 powder. Left to right. A gemsbuck centered on the shoulder at 120 yards and recovered just under the off side hide. A bushbuck centered in the arse at 60 yards with the bullet recovered about 5" from exiting passing through the critter lengthwise. Two kudu were killed by the next bullet, the bull I was shooting at 140 yards centering the slighly quartering shoulder exiting just in front of the off shoulder and entering just behind the shoulder of a cow that ran past about 5 yards behind right when I shot and found under the off side hide. The last was a final (2nd) killing shot on an eland at 40 yrds entering a bit high on the shoulder and found under the off side hide. All but the last bullet weigh 250 grs with the last one going 222 grs. Needless to say, it is the only load I use in my 9.3x62's.

Although I do not  have a 9.3 by 62 my lee manual has some loads for the 250 x bullet.

accurate 2015 has a start of 45.9 and a max of 51 grains and 2426 fps adn is listed at 46500 psi

accurate 2230 has a start of 46.8 and a max of 52 grains for  2392 fps and is listed at 48600 psi
