Sounds like you got a heck of a deal on a truck gun for 95 bucks. Just guessing, but I think that front sights for leverguns like Marlin, Winchester, and others are/were probably purchased parts to begin with. From a manufacturing standpoint it would more likely be much cheaper if you were Winchester or Marlin to buy front sights from somebody like Lyman, Williams, or Marbles that it would be to set up a department to make your own. It seems that back in the day, a lot of such rifles had various sights, both front and rear, made by Lyman or Marbles. Both companies stll offer a selection of front sights--the ramp-type as well as the ones that go directly into a barrel dovetail.
