despite much looking im still at a loss for the moment as to locating a tank for a bowling ball mortar. but in the mean time i figure i can do some loose planning. my question is on chamber design. are the pressures on black powder high enough with a bowling ball to denote building a sub chamber? if so how do i go about mounting it into the tube? and what size sub chamber do i need? any drawings anyone can share would be greatly appreciated. Also any help on locating a tank would be great as well. thanks.
Nothing changes, all the safey rules apply. In a pressure tank bowling ball mortar you need a powder chamber that meets the minumum safety rule of walls that are a minumum of one caliber thick.
The Tank you are looking for is a 300 CF, DOT 3AA2400 made by Taylor Wharton.
