Camo'd my 22-250 wanted to share my idea.
« on: July 04, 2008, 07:42:32 AM »
Wish I could post a picture, but don't have the technology.  I put a base coat of primer then a tan coat then I purchased a cheap air conditioning/heater filter.  You know the cheap ones, .99cents at Wally World.  I used the filter as a stencil.  Used Green, Gave a very weedy, wispy look.  Cheapest and easiest stencil I have ever used.  Plus it looked better than any other one I have done...Just FYI

Sonds like a great idea. I have been pondering about painting my synthetic set on my Handi, I may try that. Thanks. ;)

I use a reverse technique. I get the plastic leaves from a flower arrangements. I know the grounds keeper at the local cemetary and the old arrangements get cleaned out every three months. I take a light color like khaki and spray the gun down after degreaseing and taping off the chamber, etc. Then I progressively get darker with the colors by spraying the leaf or should I say just certain parts of the leaf at a time to get an effect. I'll try and post some of the guns that I've painted tommorrow when I get off work.
