Pro hunter 7mm-08

I just got a replacement barrel in Pro Hunter 7mm-08 and was cleaning it and noticed it has a left handed twist is this correct? The other rifles I own have a right handed twist.

My Pro Hunter .243 barrel has a left-hand twist as well.  I don't know why TC made the change, but I've been happy with mine regardless of the twist direction.

I would say you are correct, but I am having trouble getting the accuracy I expected. I have been trying some Hornady 139grn and 154grg over some 4895 and 4350, but just not able to get them to group. I guess I just need to keep working on the bullet/power combination till I get one that groups.

What kind of groups are you getting?

BTW, Lyman 48th edition shows best accuracy with Hornady 139gr JSP using IMR 4895 (38.7gr start / 43.0 max), and for the Hornady 154gr JSP IMR-4064 (36.7gr start / 41.8[compressed] max).

They also say that overall best accuracy for all weights was with H380, and IMR-4350 as a second choice.

I purchased a 7mm-08 T/C replacement barrel for my Pro Hunter. It would not shoot accuartely with any factory or reloads. It turned out to be a head space ( bad chamber) problem. The primers were definitely showing flattening. I sent it back with some fired cases and they agreed.  They sent me a new barrel. It shoots well.

I tried some IMR 4007ssc and am well pleased with the accuracy at 25yrds. I will take it to range in a few days and see how it does. I used thier reccomended compressed load for the 139grn and near max for the 154.
