Need some guide lines. Most of the stuff I see on the internet used or new are 600 +.

Correct me if wrong, but a-bolt hunters sell in mid $700's new, and a browning anything in good condition tends to have good resale value. So, 600 used sounds in the ball park. See any in the local newspaper or shops, to reflect market price in your area? Another thought is, keep a patient eye on gunbroker.com for one, sooner or later may find one used at an attractive price.

You can get a good deal on Gunbroker if you check often. I found a 243 A-bolt II for a no reserve price and paid $400. The guy threw in a VX-I 3X9 for $100. The whole thing cost me $525 with shipping. Only thing is you need to try and get the serial number from the seller and then go to Brownigs web site and look it up.

The A-bolt I resell for about $100-$150 less due to the A-bolt II improved bolt. The Medalion Models are even more spread in resale cost. Additionally be aware that many 243 bolts out there are of the MICRO version. Still nice guns but have a shortend LOP. With the information from Browning site and the Browning A-bolt page from the Blue Book you will get a better idea of what you are dealing with.
Good luck
