This is going to break some hearts. Just got a 25-20 Marlin
« on: August 17, 2003, 11:14:02 AM »
I have had a Marlin 1894CL in bee for a couple of years, but I wanted something that would work for edible game.  Just completed a swap , a shotgun for an 1894CL in 25-20.  This should be perfect for small game after I install a peep sight.  Anyone have dies, brass, source for good 60-65 gr. cast bullets.  I will need everything.

Yeah got all that stuff but you ain't getting it dang it cuz I'm still waiting until I get me a .25-20. The right deal hasn't come along yet but when it does I've picked up all the stuff I need for it.

Wayne Doudna of Custom Cast Bullets (he has a banner in the rotation on this site) has the bullets you're looking for at a good price. Check him out.

Now what would an old boar shooter want with a refined delicate little thing like a 25-20? May as well let me store all that stuff over to my place while you get your thinking right!!

You are probably gonna have to start casting boolits for that one.  I find the casting of bullet to be enjoyable.

Hey Chuck :D , I got a 92 Winchester in 25-20 that is a fun gun. I use Lee dies because they have the factory crimp die. Remington makes 86 grain jacketed bullets that shoot well in mine and I also have a Lyman mould for a gas check 65 grain bullet that I use. I bought Remington brass. There are several mail order places to buy components and the reloading folk's are making some good dies and moulds for this cartridge.

Enjoy it Pard, I love mine.

Lone Yankee, I cast .30, .38, .44, and .45 but don't have a mold for the little .25.  At the prices I have found, I may just buy cast bullets for it.
