You may have just saved me a ton of loading , I'm just getting started with loads for my 22-250 , so far all I have tried have been H380 and IMR 4895 with bullets in the 50 & 55 weights .

Have you tried any of the 40 & 45 grain bullets ? And if so what were your results ?

i have tried the 40 blitzkings and v-maxes without too much luck, some of the groups with the v-maxes showed a little promise but not a lot. i also messed around with the 36 gr varmint grenades that would occasionally give sub 1.5 inch groups but no real consistency. the 55 and 60 gr v-maxes were an absolute disaster with all shots keyholing at 50 yards.

this barrel has been a real problem child since the day i got it. factory loads would group about 6 inches and most of the handloads i tried were in the 2-3 inch range. but i figured i would keep trying until i shot the barrel out. i am going to play around with overall length and possibly try some different primers to see what i can squeeze out of it but if i can get sub 1.5 inch groups consistently with it i will be happy.

Recently took my ultra varmint 22-250 to the range.  I had very good results with 36grn of varget and CT silver tip bullets in the 55gr.  38.5 grains of H380 shot decently too.  I also tried some of the 52 grain Amax bullets, they shot completely different than the CT's...52grn MK from sierra shot pretty close to same spot as the CT's which I was suprised by.

I use nosler brass for the 22-250, WLR primers and OAL varies between the bullets....the MK i seated to 2.35, amax I went out to 2.425, CT's were right at 2.405.  First trip to the range was more or less to break the barrel in and experiement with different powders/bullets to see which one showed the most promise....next trip I'll play with different lengths for the 55 CT's and maybe increment the powder charge by .2 until I get closer to max.  Think I've pretty much decided on going with the CT bullets and varget, it was repeatable accuracy....and the most expensive bullet out of the group, go figure.
