I tried the 120gr. triple shoks out of my M700 Mtn. rifle and they did not group well at all (2" at best). I have not tried the tipped ones yet. I hate to waste the money on them if they won't shoot (Barnes are real proud of their bullets).

Not in a 7mm-08, but I do shoot the 120g and 140g in my 7mm RM (as welll as 168g in my .30's).

The only game I've taken with a TTSX was last weekend when I hit an antelope high, above the centerline of the spine.  The wound path was only 4-5" long in total but the last half was an open "U" shape channel.

HAving had a very bad experience a few years back with one very unfortunate antelope and Barnes XLC's which didn't appear to expand, I've been loading the TSX's.  Haven't tried them on game and probably won't now that I'm shooting TTSX.  Last week's TTSX results ended any nagging doubts I had about reliable expansion and I'll be using 168g for elk in a few weeks.

...

Which cartridge with the 168?

Ruger .300 Win Mag, Ruger/Remington/Savage .30-06, Remington .308 Win.

The way things are shaping up, I'll be using the Remington .30-06 for elk in a few weeks and my future son-in-law will use the Savage.
