Model 77e ?
« on: September 23, 2008, 08:47:28 PM »
I was at a Flea Market on Sunday, and one of the Venders had some rifles and Shotguns sitting on the table.  There were 3 Levers Actions, a Winchester 94, a 336C 30-30 and what I thought was an older 336 - possibly an RC.  When I picked it up, and tried to read the barrel, I thought it read Marlin 77e in 35 Rem with what looked like a 24" barrel.  It was kind of hard to read because of the light conditions at the time.

I never did ask the guy exactly what it was because I didn't bring enough money with me and I wasn't about to run home to get more.  He wanted $350 for it.  It appeared to be in pretty good condition.  While I didn't looked down the bore, Wood and Blueing was what I would have been looking for should I been in the market for another Marlin 35 Rem.

Did I read correctly?  Was it a 77e?  What is the History of the 77, if that is what it really was?   Was $350 a good price for one?
