How is the Savage 93 Rear Sight Removed?
« on: July 29, 2008, 01:05:32 PM »
This is a 22 WM. The rear site has two "ears" that are press fit into grooves in the side of the barrel.

Are they press fit only, or are they soldered?

Thanks

backstrap,

This is not the dovetail type. The site actually clamps into the grooves. I'm trying to find out if it will simply fall out if i cut it with a dremel.

I've not seen such as you describe. The rear sights are sometimes composed of folded sheet metal but they are retained in a dovetali. Pics???

This was double posted over on the rimfire board and I believe he got it out. It was a dovetail, just looked different.
